Earth Moons

Studio Kura Art Residency

Itoshima, Fukuoka, Japan

Feb 2025

Earth Moons is a series of painted cards set against abstract maps, created while cocooned in the warmth of the studio habitat and capturing scenes of the outdoors. These watercolours flow as an exploration, where organic patterns emerge, peeking through abstracted formations shaped by the convergence of weather elements and local observations.

Nestled within the layered textures of the surrounding landscape, the work reflects both imaginary moons and alternate earths —“worlds within worlds”— marking different adventures. Accompanied by artist books, the journey unfolds in quiet impressions, inviting contemplation and discovery.

Created on Artist Residency at Studio Kura .
